Description
Hooks are a great beginner blacksmithing project and they’re immediately useful! In this three-hour taster class, we’ll focus on J-hooks and S-hooks of different styles. We’ll aim to send you home with two or three functional hooks. In this class, you’ll learn basic blacksmithing skills such as tapering, punching, drifting, bending, and twisting.

SCHOLARSHIPS
SCHOLARSHIPS applications are available for students who may not otherwise be able to enroll in a course. Additionally, standing sliding scale scholarships exist for QT/BIPOC students.
STEEL YARDLINGS
This class runs at the same time as our optional Steel Yardlings program.
The Steel Yard and The Department of Teaching + Learning in Art + Design (TLAD) at RISD are collaborating to offer Steel Yardlings, free art and design classes for students 4 years of age and older open to children of instructors, staff, and students currently enrolled in courses running during designated times.
