In addition to our annual Fire Camp and Halloween Iron Pour The Steel Yard partners, every year, with amazing, phenomenal, impactful (and really, really cool) organizations, community groups and local businesses to bring you some of the most unique and fun events in Rhode Island. In any given week the 3.8 acre yard could be transformed into a festival, a theatre, a concert or dance party!

RIPR Sound + Vision: The Art of Rebellion!

RIPR is celebrating their 20th Anniversary. The Art of Rebellion will include a production iron pour where guests can be part of the action and personalize a cast leaf for our Giving Tree. Stay late for an outdoor night club experience that will culminate in a high-energy performance by 2017 Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame inductees, the legendary NEUTRAL NATION, with special guests Lolita Black. Joining us will be Gather Glass for some rad glass blowing demo’s as well as art sales, delicious food, and booze!

Join us for our 6th Annual Open House… better known as Fire Camp! Bring your friends, bring your family, heck, just bring anyone you want and experience all of the sights and sounds that the Steel Yard has to offer. We’ll be pouring some iron, throwing some pots, welding a few tiles… and so can you! There’ll be a Yardie art & craft sale along with live demonstrations in welding, blacksmithing, ceramics and jewelry! Join us for a tour of our industrial arts studio, listen to cool music, and enjoy amazing food and beverage from local businesses. Admission is free!

The Steel Yard’s 13th Annual Halloween Iron Pour
October 20th, 2018, 5 PM – 9 PM
Join the Steel Yard on Saturday, October 20th for Providence’s hottest Halloween party… The 13th Annual Halloween Iron Pour. This theatrical display of the industrial arts attracts over 1,500 people including artists, fabricators, families, and friends to 27 Sims Avenue in Providence, RI. For this performance, artists harness the power of our custom-built iron tilt-furnace to pour over 2,500 pounds of luminous, molten iron. People return annually not only for the sparky performance and the numerous steel and iron props that we build in our own studio, but also for the phenomenal local music and food.

Boston Decompression 2018 will take place on Saturday, November 3rd at the Steel Yard in Providence, RI. SAVE THE DATE! No need to re-check your calendar, you did not just time travel past the entire summer. We are starting the Boston Decompression 2018 cycle early this year in order to ensure that our beloved community event is realized in its fullest potential, and after the rousing success of Boston Decompression 2017: Black & White, we have a lot to live up to!
