Sculpture Fabrication for a local National Park!

The Steel Yard’s Public Projects team had the pleasure of working with local design firm, Experience Design, to fabricate a 15’ tall sculpture for a new National Park in Worcester, MA. The sculpture was designed by the Experience Design team for the Blackstone Heritage Corridor Visitor Center, which is part of the new Blackstone Gateway Park, as part of the larger Blackstone River Valley National Historic Park.

The piece could be described as a tornado of steel pipes, and constructing it was like a reverse game of pick-up-sticks. Once the Steel Yard installed the finished piece, Experience Design added “artifacts” that depict imagery of local industry and history, which hang from the overall structure.

As soon as the park is open, take a trip up to Worcester to see the sculpture for yourself!
