KEEPING THE FIRES BURNING

KEEPING THE FIRES BURNING

Special thanks to our donors in the time of COVID-19

What does it take to keep The Steel Yard fires burning? To keep the doors open and the lights on? To keep students and workforce trainees learning? To enable us to pay our working artists? All at a safe and social distance. . .

It takes steadfast supporters like Textron, who broke with tradition by encouraging us to apply their generous gift wherever it’s needed most.

And the Oliver S. and Jennie R. Donaldson Charitable Trust whose contribution is replacing failing equipment in our ceramics studio and paying local artists to use that equipment for the creation of permanently installed art on our campus.

The Rhode Island Foundation’s Equity Action program stepped up and helped us launch Camp Sparkle, our new, tuition-free summer youth camp for LGBTQ+ youth.

And the City of Providence’s Dexter Donation is also investing in our youth this summer, providing scholarships for participants of Camp Metalhead (welding) and Camp Copperhead (jewelry).

We couldn’t do any of this without you. So to each and every one of you – our funders and donors – thank you for keeping the fires burning.
