LOCATION: Various locations until its final home at the Tomaquag Museum.

The Tomaquag Museum came to The Steel Yard Public Projects with a very unique ask: to help them redesign a longhouse in steel. After gathering community input, The Steel Yard team designed the structure and benches of the longhouse. The story panels are designed and plasma cut by native community members who attended workshops in our studio to learn basic metalworking over the course of several weekends. In its home at the Tomaquag Museum, the longhouse will house intergenerational outdoor gatherings, ceremonies, and educational programming in the way that longhouses always have.
