Description
Sculpt your own miniature charcuterie set using the ancient and detailed method of metal-casting called Lost Wax Casting! Design a unique cheese knife, spoon, and fork that will be cast locally in white bronze or brass – and a hand-sewn pouch to keep them in!
In this course, students will use wax in various forms and hardnesses, learning how to carve away as well as build up. They will then design and hand sew a pouch for their finished pieces before sanding and polishing them.
This course is designed for all levels. Students may pay to cast additional items.
Open studio hours to work on projects during the course are included. Open studio runs Monday (3-6pm), Thursday (3-6pm) and Sunday (5-8pm). Students will have access to 3 open studio sessions during their course.
