13th Annual Halloween Iron Pour: The Lost Yard RECAP

ZOMG! Were you here this last Saturday for the 13th Annual Iron Pour: The Lost Yard… it was a fun fueled evening of sparks, smoke, flames and AN ALL OUT DINOSAUR EXTINCTION. All Iron Pour records were broken that evening and we want to give a huge shout out to all 1,600 of you who showed up and basked in the glow of our performative iron pour.

How’d we get here tho?

Collectively, our team of Yardies put in hundreds of volunteer hours over the last few months designing, fabricating and prepping the props this year… these folks stayed late, squeezed us in on early mornings and lunch breaks…. and together as a team helped realize a fantastic flaming story on the hill. Guests on Saturday witnessed a flaming mobile of pterosaurs, a real life meteor strike, bubbling volcanoes and of course the grand finale of a 20 ft Tyrannosaurus Rex vomiting molten iron and setting ablaze an unsuspecting triceratops. I mean, it’s what we do, ya know?

Hats off to our Iron Pour Artistic Director, Michelle Raccone, for orchestrating the entire pour down to every last fabulous sparkler.

It may seem like we’re a bunch of radical pyros but seriously- this event takes a lot of planning and a lot of partnerships with some amazing performers, vendors, and artists.

Firstly, we couldn’t have an Iron Pour without our sponsors. The 13th Annual Iron Pour was made possible by BankRI, Rhode Island School of Design, Adler’s Design Center & Hardware, Cross Insurance, Pannone Lopes Deveraux & O’Gara, Bentley Foundation, Schnitzer Steel, Revival Brewing, RISCA, Holliston Sand, AND Thirsty Music….

We gotta call out and give some special props to our friends at Revival Brewing. The Yardie Bar was once again powered by these amazing folks. If you haven’t had a chance to check-out their tasting room 505 Atwood Ave, Cranston, RI 02920 then you’re missing out!

This year we were also thrilled to have the FireFly Caravan return to kick-off our show with some phenomenal fire dancing- they never disappoint! And how good was all that music!?! Am I right?

We LOVE DJ Unkle Thirsty and were so honored to have MorganEve and crew from the Huntress & The Holder of Hands provide the perfect ambience, tone and excitement for the event.

Our bellies were happy and full thanks to Rhody Roots, Weenie Wizard &

Thank you to ALL THE YARDIES, STAFF, BOARD MEMBERS, VOLUNTEERS, GUESTS, PERFORMERS, VENDORS… for making this the biggest, hottest, and coolest event in Yard History.

We’ll see y’all next year 🙂
