Woonasquatucket River Greenway Arts: Sculptural Planters

WRGA: Sculptural Planters

wOONASQUATUCKET RIVER

Our WRGA Sculptural Planters were part of a larger community initiative with River Watershed Council, Waterfire Arts Center and the City of Providence Department of Art Culture & Tourism. The goal was to activate the river greenway with temporary installations and performances, in order to draw attention to the upcoming improvements being planned. Our planters were filled with native species, making them pollinator habitats. They were installed on tree stumps, reused from invasive plants (no concrete footings needed!) The planters were handmade by plasma cutting and welding steel.
