Design to Fabrication to Installation
Anyone can hire the Public Projects department at The Steel Yard. We design, fabricate The Public Projects Department at The Steel Yard designs, fabricates, and installs custom artistic public-facing works throughout Rhode Island and Greater New England. We collaborate with just about anyone, from municipalities to businesses and artists with custom fabrication needs. Inquiries can be sent to: projects@thesteelyard.org. We specialize in both fine art installations and artistic street amenities (trashcans, bike racks, benches, fences, etc). View our portfolio to check out some of our projects.
When you hire Public Projects you’ll get more than a custom piece; you’re helping beautify neighborhoods, build community, pay local artists and craftspeople, and support training for underemployed Rhode Islanders. Our strength comes from a long-standing history of working with a network of local artists and designers, participants in the Workforce Welding program, resident artists, and trusted vendors.
