Halloween Iron Pour 2019: Recap!

Halloween Iron Pour 2019: Recap!

Saturday, October 19th, 2019… 1500 guests gathered here at The Steel Yard to witness the grandest, largest, and certainly most epic Halloween Iron Pour to date. There was a 20-foot Trojan horse carrying the Pour crew, a giant Medusa face who cried molten iron tears, and a flying Icarus who was shot down by Zeus’s lightning bolt… it was an all-out fiery celebration of foundry art! Cheers to the vibrant, creative, and phenomenal team of volunteers who built each massive metal monster.

The annual fundraiser (14th of its kind!) supporting The Steel Yard’s programs continues to grow in popularity. The event has sold out of tickets prior to the event for the past four years. To all of you who were able to join us… thank you for celebrating the fire arts with The Steel Yard for another year.

The Iron Pour would not be possible without our volunteers. We’re not just being polite… we really mean that. Collectively, our team of Yardies put in hundreds of volunteer hours over the last few months designing, fabricating and prepping each sculpture… the Iron Pour is the blazing hot culmination of all their work! We have a BIG list of thanks yous in this recap- but it makes sense to start with all of you, volunteers. So, THANK YOU. You. Are. All. Incredible.

Thank you, Alec K. Redfearn & The Eyesores… for once again adding the perfect eerie atmosphere to the whole event.

Studs Jerkel & Unkle Thirsty- you bring the Pour to new levels every year- spinning ACTUAL albums and lighting up our lives.

Thank you to the FIREFLY CARAVAN! For swinging and dancing in style- we are honored to partner with you all year after year. We can’t imagine doing this without y’all

Thanks to one of our newest partners Acqua Carta for joining us with their spooky and perfectly themed jade living statue performance art.

Special shout out to Iron Pour Artistic Director & Volunteer Manager, Michelle Raccone, for organizing the entire pour down to the last magnesium ball.
