Volunteer at the Steel Yard
The Steel Yard is home to volunteer projects of many kinds. If you, or an organization you are involved with, would like to find out more about how to partner with the Steel Yard for a volunteer project, please contact .
Spend a few hours, or a whole day working on various projects around the Yard. We try and match up your skills and interests with our volunteer projects if you’d like, or, you can try something completely new! Just a few past project examples are: painting, distributing posters and catalogs around town, documenting events and installations, building a tire playground in Olneyville, making signs for our events, helping the staff with writing, building a safety railing for our “porch”, filing paperwork(always a hit), data entry, or landscaping.
Second Saturday Volunteer Days at the Steel Yard are a great way to help out in a group setting. On the second Saturday of each month, from 11 am – 4 pm, we work together to keep the Yard looking great. It’s a great way to meet new people, enjoy a beautiful day outside and be creative. Tasks vary but come prepared to get a little dirty. Please RSVP to . (Keep in mind that rain cancels.)
If you’re interested in helping out or finding out what kinds of projects are available, please fill out our Volunteer Form (pdf) and send it to . Or, you can fax it to our office, (401) 273-7105.
