STUDENT SUMMER FELLOWSHIP
Our Student Summer Fellowship supports emerging artists who are currently enrolled in an academic program or recently graduated, with full access to our studio and tools. Student Summer Fellows receive waived residency fees, a $250 one-time reimbursement for material purchases, and access to mentorship from their department fellow.
Student Summer Fellows should be enrolled in an academic program OR graduated within 24 months of the application deadline. Fellows should demonstrate an eagerness to learn, and a desire to be part of a diverse community.
This opportunity is available for students working primarily in ceramics, jewelry, metals, or foundry.
Student Summer Fellows contribute 15 hours of volunteer work per month within their department.
RESIDENCY INFO SESSION
Join us on Wednesday, March 31st, from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm for a streaming information session regarding the upcoming residency season. This session will be live via zoom and will be hosted by Islay Taylor, the Associate Director of the Steel Yard. She’ll discuss the benefits and expectations of the residency program, and answer any questions you might have. Register for the info session here.

- Current CV/resume
- Ten digital images of recent work and an image list
- A brief artist bio, written in the third person
- A narrative statement outlining how you’ll use your time in our studio
- One reference that can speak to your artistic merit
