Description
Earring enthusiasts of all levels are welcome to learn and hone fundamental jewelry-making skills through the lens of earring fabrication. In this 8 week course, we will consider both sculptural and functional aspects of earrings. We’ll explore movement, composition, and personal expression, while also learning how to fabricate a variety of earring mechanisms including posts, hooks, hoops, and more. We’ll learn how to ensure comfort for the wearer by considering size, weight, and material. Throughout our earring making, we’ll be engaging in fundamental jewelry fabrication techniques such as texturing, forming, sawing, piercing, soldering, filing, and finishing.
