Educational Partnerships

The Steel Yard partners with both schools and organizations to offer students a place to explore and make connections between the arts and industrial processes through custom curriculum in courses and workshops.

Educational Partnerships augment the creative opportunities available at the partner facility with a creative curriculum that highlights hands-on opportunities in ceramics, jewelry, metalworking and blacksmithing. Students are empowered to make their own artwork under the careful supervision of professional working artists.

As an added bonus, any student who has completed one of our Educational Partnership programs is invited to attend Open Studio sessions free of charge for the duration of their time in high school. Students can work on their own projects and spend time experimenting in our shop with the support and guidance of Steel Yard artists and instructors.

Sponsored An Educational Partnership

Individuals, schools and organizations are invited to sponsor an Educational Partnership at the Steel Yard for their students and members. These high quality courses will introduce the industrial arts to new audiences at an affordable price. These classes are custom designed to meet the needs of the sponsor and their constituents’ needs.

Tours

We are available for tours with local school and youth-serving community organization - please call in advance to schedule.
