Brian Dowling has a BFA in sculpture from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and has worked on large-scale public sculpture projects in bronze, aluminum, steel and stainless steel. Brian has foundry and blacksmithing experience as well and works primarily in wood and metal. He likes the correlation between shapes found in nature and man-made structures that seem to mimic them. He also likes switching back and forth between making functional work and art work—it gives balance to his thought process. Brian likes cilantro and mint. Not together though.
