Public Projects (Hire the Yard)
The Steel Yard collaborates with local artists, vendors and industry to produce functional public sculpture.
the Steel Yard specializes in...
Bike Racks - Unique designs with capacity for 2-20 bikes providing durable and original solutions for bike parking while promoting alternative transportation.
Tree Guards - Custom-made to be incorporated into any streetscape greening plan provides great protection for new or old trees..
Trash Cans and Recycling Bins - Finely crafted pieces fabricated in limted edition series or one-of-a-kind by local artists. A great way to encourage clean streets and parks.
Examples of this functional public art can be seen throughout southern New England: in Olneyville Square, on Smith St., at the Roger Williams Park Zoo, Riverside Mills Park, the Town of Warren, West Warwick, Tufts University, and throughout Downcity Providence.
Check out some of our past projects!
We do this through a range of design/build challenges across Southern New England.
Teams of artists work closely with community, municipal and non-profit clients to develop, design and produce each project.

Proceeds generated from our line of urban furniture help to keep our Course fees low and Youth Programs free.
